Priorities Fund

Scheme: Funding for reconciliation and outreach projects

Funding Role: The objective of the Priorities Fund is to raise and distribute money, on behalf of the Church of Ireland, to various worthy projects within the island of Ireland.

Budget: €500,000 annually

Policy: The fund will be supporting reconciliation and outreach projects, e.g. projects which reach out into the community to promote understanding among people from differing religious, cultural and political backgrounds, bridge building and anti-sectarian programmes

Applications: The Priorities Fund Committee, which consists of 8 members of the Standing Committee, meets in February to decide on the allocation of grants and these recommendations are put to the Standing Committee for its approval in March.

Closing Date: 31 October annually

Exclusions: Funding is unlikely to be provided for: projects which are still at the planning stage; projects that have already taken place; salaries; routine renovations and repairs.

Cross-Border Relevance

Cross-border projects are eligible and will be considered for funding.
