Funding Role: The NCCRI is an expert advisory body established in 1998 that draws together key government and non-government bodies to address racism and promote a more inclusive, intercultural society. NCCRI is a partnership organisation of twenty statutory and non-statutory organisations, it has networked with over three hundred organisations on the issue of racism. It has developed a system of sub-committees, which consider specific thematic issues, currently there are three active sub-committees: women, community development and migration.
The NCCRI seeks to work in partnership with statutory and non-statutory organisations such as the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland and Northern Ireland Council for Ethnic Minorities (NICEM) to develop North/South strategies to address racism.
Budget: The aim of the scheme is to enable organisations to raise awareness about racism and to highlight cultural diversity in Ireland.
Policy: Scheme A provides amounts between €3,000 and €7,000 for smaller projects; Scheme B provides for amounts of between €10,000 and €15,000 for projects which are strategic, involving a number of partners and which offer the potential to assist in the development of an integrated and sustainable approach to tackling racism.
