Scheme: Medium Grants
Category: Trust / Foundation
Keywords: Youth
Funding Role: The IYF was founded in 1985 as an independent charitable trust, dedicated exclusively to meeting the needs of disadvantaged children and young people. Each year, approximately 10,000 children from around the country benefit from work carried out by groups funded by the IYF in areas such as homelessness, substance abuse, poverty and social education. To apply for funding, you must first register. This registration ensures that you are either a voluntary or community group/organisation and you work with or for disadvantaged children and young people. Only registered groups receive an YYF grant application form.
Budget: Up to €15,000
Policy: These grants are intended for community and voluntary groups working in preventative and educational ways with children and young people who are marginalised or at risk. These grants can be used to extend an existing activity, to employ additional staff, to purchase equipment, to undertake evaluation, to publish a report, improve organisational capacity or to try something new and different.
Closing Date: The call for small grants is made in April each year.
Exclusions: Grants will not be awarded for travel outside of Ireland.
Cross-Border Relevance
Groups or individuals must be based in the Republic, but cross-border work can be considered for funding.
