Scheme: Small Grants
Category: Trust / Foundation
Keywords: Youth
Funding Role: The IYF was founded in 1985 as an independent charitable trust, dedicated exclusively to meeting the needs of disadvantaged children and young people. Each year, approximately 10,000 children from around the country benefit from work carried out by groups funded by the IYF in areas such as homelessness, substance abuse, poverty and social education. To apply for funding, you must first register. This registration ensures that you are either a voluntary or community group/organisation and you work with or for disadvantaged children and young people. Only registered groups receive an YYF grant application form.
Budget: Up to €3,000
Policy: Small grants are intended as a flexible and immediate response to the needs of children and young people from disadvantaged communities. These grants are more suited to small voluntary groups working in local areas. Proposals which can demonstrate high impact for target group will receive particular attention.
Closing Date: The call for small grants is made in late January, early February each year.
Exclusions: Statutory bodies are ineligible. Grants will not be awarded for travel outside of Ireland, for fees or for renovations.
Cross-Border Relevance
Groups or individuals must be based in the Republic, but cross-border work can be considered for funding.
